Hey everyone!
How’s everything? I’ve been happy and busy, so there are lots of great adventures to report to everyone in the Free World! The recap goes like this: video-clips, tour+shows, behind-the-scenes, and upcoming news!
I was in New York City in mid-may to film the video-clip for the first single off the EP “Radian”, called “Questions In My Mind”. I worked with the most amazing people, it was a truly rewarding experience. There were so many brilliant moments and I wish I had an infinite memory so that I could keep them all forever. We filmed on a rooftop in Greenwich Village (in Manhattan), and in a beautiful 4-storey building in Queens, overlooking the East River. The video was fun and easy to create because of my dedicated and hard-working team, and of course the director, Mark Maclaine, who is extremely talented and focused. Thank you so very much to every single person who was involved with the video - the moving, the acting, the hauling, connecting and holding stuff, props, hair, makeup, costume, production, cinematography, technology, rigging, etc! I hope we all see each other soon!
While I was in New York City, I also stopped by DROM club to play an opening set for the very talented Jeremiah, and I had a blast greeting some of my NYC fans in the crowd and taking pictures with them (which are up already in the With Fans and Friends section of the Pictures menu)! You guys rocked! Thank you so much for coming out to watch (some of you from half way across the USA), and I can’t wait to see you all next time!
I flew back to Portugal, which is where I’ve been for the last week, trying to enjoy some sunshine in between the adventures! There’s something magical about the feel and presence of the sun that I love so much; perhaps it’s from growing up by the beach and spending all my summers in sunny places. Either way, it’s happiness to wake up in the morning to the sunshine!
Last week I was up north filming the video-clip for the single “Black Tears”, which I recorded with Hands On Approach. We stayed in the middle of (almost) nowhere, in a stunning, large country house, which was also the location of part of the shoot. We filmed by a river, on little country roads, in bathrooms, patios, gardens and forests, where I was attacked by some unsuspecting stinging nettles – the joy! Totally crazy, but totally worth it. A wonderful cast and crew is always guaranteed to make any stinging nettle attack so much more enjoyable! :) I can’t wait till the final edit of “Black Tears” – I think it’ll look pretty awesome! There’s lots of backstage and behind the scenes footage to put together for you all! Thanks to all the cast and crew, and also Hands On Approach for giving me the opportunity to be a part of their upcoming album.
I played at Vintage Club in Rio Maior over the weekend (the photos will be up in With Fans and Friends asap)! It was a good night, crazy and fun! I have some more upcoming shows:
